“Nature loves courage. You make the commitment and nature will respond to that commitment by removing impossible obstacles. Dream the impossible dream and the world will not grind you under, it will lift you up. This is the trick. This is what all these teachers and philosophers who really counted, who really touched the alchemical gold, this is what they understood. This is the shamanic dance in the waterfall. This is how magic is done. By hurling yourself into the abyss and discovering it's a feather bed.”
― Terence McKenna
The second Grimes read this quote during her appearance on the Lex Fridman podcast, I felt the instinctive urge to take out my phone, open up Instagram, and share this quote with the world. But then I remembered… “Right. I deleted all of my social media apps. I disappeared from the world.”
Which got me thinking, did I go too far? Did I take this disappearing act to an extreme degree? Maybe. Maybe not. There is beauty in social media, in the power to connect with anyone in the world at any moment in time, and the chance to inspire someone out there by sharing a quote like this.
It’s for that very reason I’m choosing to share it here.
The day will come when I’ll return to social media apps, when I’ll return to the world, but I can’t right now. I’ve made the commitment to my impossible dream and nature is responding, bracing to lift me up.
The impossible IS possible. I see that, feel it, and believe it now more than I ever have in my life. Because of that, I must continue to lurch in the shadows, protecting myself from the energy of the world and those who don’t believe in the impossible. Who don’t believe in themselves.
I’d love to help these people.
I’d love to lift them.
But the best way to do that is by manifesting my impossible dream, reminding them that anything is possible in this short life. Anything.
WE are the masters of our fate. WE are the captains of our souls.
